Who doesn’t love the Fourth of July? With all the fireworks, grilling, beach time with the family, and ice cold drinks its the perfect summer celebration of Independence! I have always wanted to do a flag inspired series of works because Independence Day is a big deal for my family. I found this great sheer American flag scarf for only $8 at one of my favorite stores Old Navy. I knew instantly it would be magic.
I really wanted to do something youthful, fun, sultry but not sexy, and definitely with a feeling of freedom. I really am a big fan of American Eagles fashion ads which have a cool laid back vibe to them so I drew some inspiration from there as well. These were shot at two different parks in Miami-Dade which have awesome lush forest areas and plenty of space to explore. It was an awesome experience and I met some of the coolest ladies ever in the process!
Did you know that many of today’s student’s who struggle academically do so because they cannot see the board? It’s an often overlooked issue simply because of the negative stigma behind wearing classes. The wonderful people at OptiWow sponsored an amazing event to celebrate children who wear glasses and donate hundreds of free totally cool eyeglass frames for children in our community. Plus, they put on a great event with fun activities for the whole family. These kids were so excited!
As a kid, I too struggled in school because I couldn’t see the board and often times had difficulty seeing the text in our books. I truly wished there was something around like this when I was young. My frame fate wasn’t as hip as today’s kiddies. I ended up with some transparent pink plastic ( cool factor -100) not so attractive frames which helped me excel in school. The teasing was intense to say these least and by 6th grade I was in contact lenses STAT. Man do our kids have it great with all these options!
Check them out OptiWow online at www.optiwow.com or at their kiddie boutique located inside Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
I had the pleasure of capturing the pre- prom festivities for A Prom to Remember at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital this year. A Prom to Remember ( www.apromtoremember.org) is an organization which puts on the most amazing prom for children with life-threatening illnesses. Every aspect of the prom is donated to the children from the glamorous makeup and hair to the clothing, the transportation, everything! It’s truly magical and I am so happy I was able to help use my talents to put a smile on their faces on their special day. A super special shout out to the other vendors who gave their time and talent that afternoon. It was such a pleasure working with you all!

Miss M wanted to spice things up a bit with a session for her hubby inspired by her favorite movie 50 Shades of Grey. After a great consult to discuss wardrobe our wonderful makeup artist Yasmin began her transformation. We went for a retro glam style for hair and makeup which M loved! She was so excited to see her finished look just before we began shooting.
M was awesome at gathering a few props from the movie such as Mr. Grey’s tie which doubled as hand ties ( rawr!). She was a little nervous about her shoot because she didn’t meet a personal fitness goal. I reassured her that she would look great and that we could achieve very flattering photographs of her with great posing and wardrobe choices.
All in all her session went without a hitch and we even were able to send a little teaser image to hubby via text for his birthday which he enjoyed very much!
Today’s blog post comes from a Va va voom session I did in Tampa Bay, Florida with the beautiful Miss M! I know M from college and as an avid Miami Heat fan (GO Heat!). So I hit the road and had a lovely day catching up with M while getting her makeup done and during her session. She loves all things vintage and Hollywood starlets of the past which really comes through in the styling of the photos. Very glam, very sultry, and very coy. M really wanted to tie in her favorite red shoes throughout her session which worked great to add a little pop of color. But who needs color when you have those fabulous perfect red lips?

I am soon excited that March is here! I’m a big time NBA fan and have definitely been itching for some basketball in my life! To celebrate my favorite sport season opener, here are some teasers from basketball themed sessions I held this month. The ladies provided their own jerseys including the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and vintage Jordans.
The photos have a sexy yet sporty vibe that is sure to catch their intendeds imagination. It was such a blast!

What I love the most about shooting boudoir is that no two sessions are ever the same! Case in point is Miss E’s Gamer themed session. It’s something her and her boo have in common so it became the core theme of the day. Little accessories and props that she brought in for the session helped make it meaningful and fun.

Did you know that I almost almost had a minor in Art History? Well I didn’t either until it was too late and I was walking across the stage to get my diploma just one credit short of a minor. I could kick myself in the pants sometimes! My love for art history still runs strong all these years ( 2004 was such a long time ago) since then and thats where the inspiration for these images came from.
I have always wanted to do the ever popular milk bath, I had a muse but how could I taking up a notch? I drew inspiration from the Renaissance and Romanticist periods of art where everything is fluid and beautiful. Figures are rounded but perfectly proportioned just perfection. I wanted to give it a youthful look so I added some flowers in fun colors for a pop. Vintage lingerie combined with modern wardrobe pieces help to tie the concept together. It was super fun and I can’t wait to do this on a larger scale soon!
